Kandes at the 2025 Dezeen Awards: Surface Design

We are pleased to announce that Kandes has been invited to take part in the 2025 Dezeen Awards, in one of the most forward-looking categories: Surface Design.

Recognising Innovation in Surface Materials

Organised by Dezeen, one of the world’s most influential design and architecture platforms, the Dezeen Awards have become a benchmark of excellence across the creative industries. With thousands of submissions each year from architects, designers, developers, and innovators, Dezeen continues to set the agenda for the future of design.

The Surface Design category honours materials that do more than decorate. They shape atmosphere, perception, and the sensory qualities of space. It highlights surfaces, walls, ceilings, floors, and bespoke features that define environments while advancing innovation, responsibility, and material expression.

Our Entry: The SOAP Model

At Kandes, we are proud to present our submission: SOAP, a sculptural 3D wall model crafted from reinforced gypsum.

Created with architects and designers in mind, SOAP is intended for high-end projects in hospitality, residential, and commercial interiors. Its rhythmic geometry introduces visual softness and depth, playing with light and shadow to deliver a sense of architectural tactility that is both functional and poetic.

Equally important, SOAP is made from all-natural, A1 non-combustible gypsum, completely free from harmful substances—reflecting our commitment to eco-conscious interior design.
