In brief
Kandes is now represented in Switzerland by Hochwert, Zürich's renowned material house, where the collection is presented within its carefully curated material library in Zürich-Wipkingen.
From June 2026, architects, interior designers, developers and private clients from Zürich, Zug, Lucerne, Basel and Bern are warmly invited to experience the collection at full scale. By appointment, projects can be explored alongside Hochwert's material specialists in the calm, considered setting of the library.

Who is Hochwert?
Step into the Hochwert Library and you enter a space curated with quiet precision.
For more than two decades, Hochwert has brought together an exceptional collection of European natural stone, designer ceramics, wood, terrazzo and mosaic into a single destination for architects and design professionals. It is a place to spend time with a material—to experience its texture, colour and character in natural light, alongside others of its calibre, before it becomes part of a project.
Materials that define spaces
- Hochwert describes its philosophy, and the library reflects exactly that.
Alongside Kandes, Hochwert represents internationally respected brands including Mutina, Dornbracht, Davide Groppi, Naku and Belgiqa. It is one of the few places in Switzerland where architectural materials can be evaluated in the context they deserve—supported by experienced specialists and surrounded by a carefully selected material palette.

What the partnership means for Swiss clients
For architects, interior designers and developers, the Hochwert Library is where a Kandes specification begins to take shape. Panels can be experienced at architectural scale, their geometry viewed in changing light and considered alongside complementary materials. Technical questions, detailing and project suitability can be discussed in person, allowing specifications to develop with confidence.
Private clients receive the same considered welcome. Through a personal appointment, the collection can be explored without hurry, with time to compare designs, understand the material and select the geometry that best complements the space.
Project quotations are prepared individually by Hochwert according to surface area, chosen collection and project requirements. Every proposal forms part of a personal consultation, ensuring the material is specified with care and precision.
What is a Kandes panel?
Kandes is a Swiss brand of three-dimensional gypsum architectural wall panels, designed in Zürich and manufactured in the European Union.
Each panel is classified A1 non-combustible (EN 13501-1)—the highest European fire classification—and is recognised in Switzerland as VKF fire behaviour group RF1, meaning no contribution to fire. The mineral composition contains no toxic or hazardous binders in the finished panel. Every design forms a continuous architectural surface, with seamless pattern transitions and precise geometry from one panel to the next.
Every Kandes wall is painted on site in the colour of your choosing. The panel defines the architecture; the colour becomes part of the project.
The collection ranges from sculptural reliefs to integrated LED compositions, each responding differently to changing daylight and artificial illumination. Kandes is an architectural finishing material intended for professionally executed interiors. For the finest result, installation should be carried out by an experienced gypsum finishing contractor who can achieve the seamless appearance the collection is designed to deliver.
